Car Finance Calculator - Is it reliable?

On the Volkswagen website, they feature a calculator to factor in finances and help you find a car you can afford. 

I don't know if any other brands/makes do this. I did use it to see what my price range would be but I am not sure if this is reliable or if I should use something else.
