I travel each fall to visit family and friends and have not traveled the last 2 years due to COVID.

This will be the first time since 2019 I will be visiting my family and friends. Some live in Canada, others in the US. I am worried that because of the price of petrol going up, flights will end up being 50% more expensive come fall. Does anyone know if this is something I should worry about?

As of right now, flights leaving the UK are up 29%. I am not sure they will be able to predict if it will be more expensive as of yet but I am sure it will cost more than it did in 2021 just because of the war happening.

So it likely will go up more than during the busier holiday months. Yike. If only we had electric planes! I wonder why no one is trying to figure that out.

Well, I guess I will have to budget for a more expensive trip and hope nothing gets worse. I heard they keep canceling flights on people.

My sister had her flight canceled on her twice now. She gave up on her trip and is just trying to get refunded. It seems a lot of pilots stepped away when they were mandating the vaccines so this coupled with increased prices on fuel have made a real mess of things!
