I have owned her since April 2011, so that’s 15 years now; she’s a classic. Overall, the bodywork is in good condition on the outside; advisory, though, for sills around the bottom doors 5 years ago, which was then sorted (both inner/outer). Within the past 5 years: Full body respray, sills and rear arches replaced. Clutch around 85K. Timing belt, water pump and battery (NAPA) changed at 93K. This GTi model is equipped with a much-spirited 1.8-litre petrol engine which offers an engaging driving experience equipped with an upgraded ecu for super responsive acceleration, have also changed up her standard air filter to a sports style k&n to make her a little faster and lowered the suspension by about 20cm.
Original alloys for tyres, a fairly clean original interior inlay with minor cosmetic wear and tear. Leather seats at the front have been reupholstered in the time I have had her, but the driver’s seat has a small mark, though reappearing through usage. This 1998 Ford Escort GTi presents service history, offering a blueprint into its past maintenance and care.
I also have as a way to make this a sweet deal about the £1000 worth of spare parts brought over the years, as they are getting harder and harder to track down when replacing, so you can have them too, including 4 tyres and spare replacement alloys.
