It seems we are getting hit with some pretty nasty temps with this rare heat wave.

I was thinking of driving out to the beach but I don't know if I can be bothered, especially with petrol prices being high right now.

Has anyone gone to the beach because of the heat wave?

How are the car auctions in Humber?

I heard years ago that some people got really good deals but I have never been a part of any. I have seen some classic models go for sale a few times for really good prices but this was 5 or 6 years ago now.

If there are some good auctions, which are the best spots?

Supply issues hurting sales in Northern Ireland

Just 3,539 new cars were registered here last month, 13 per cent below June 2021, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

Sales were only marginally above the 3,278 sold in June 2020, when car showrooms were still partly under Covid-19 restrictions.

It made last month one of the worst on record for the industry. SMMT data showed dealers sold 1,631 fewer cars than the pre-pandemic levels of June 2019.

Compared with the first six months of 2019, the 21,139 new cars sold in the north this year represents a fall of 9,700 vehicles.

SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said UK wide, the global shortage of semiconductor microchips is stifling the new car market even more than last year's lockdown.

"Electric vehicle demand continues to be the one bright spot, as more electric cars than ever take to the road,” he said.

"But, while this growth is welcome, it is not yet enough to offset weak overall volumes, which has huge implications for fleet renewal and our ability to meet overall carbon reduction targets.”

My sister is in the area and was telling me about it. I think the supply issues are happening all over the place but it appears to be especially bad up there.

Has anyone in the area been trying to buy a car and can't because of shortages?

I never drove out to Whales but a friend of mine wants to go to the race tracks next month. Trying to see if we can plan something after our trip in London.

I am not sure how long of a drive it would be or the best route to take. Anyone know?

I found an old post talking about a drive-in movie event they did in 2020. I was hoping to find something like that to go to this year whilst my friend is visiting but I can't seem to find anything.

I have a friend coming to visit from outside of the UK and she needs to have access to a vehicle so she would like to rent something.

I am not sure where to tell her to check as I don't and never have rented a vehicle in Scotland. I have only been living in the area a few years.

What is up with the delays in Yorkshire?

There was a new study done that found Yorkshire has some of the worst delays in terms of traffic in the area.
